If you own or manage rental housing you are required to follow Fair Housing laws. HUD's Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity released updated guidance for the screening of applicants and this training will review and explain that guidance. Topics include: your legal responsibilities and liabilities when using tenant screening companies or reports, requirements and recommendations for Fair Housing Act compliance, and a closer look at the three types of screenings likely to pose fair housing concerns: credit history, eviction history, and criminal history.
